Angry Antman and the Wasp

By Michael Bunn

Ok. Let me just go ahead and say these things: obviously there will be some spoilers here. Nothing major though, I'd hate to be that guy. And two, THIS IS THE MOST ANGERING MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN, but I wont say why because major spoiler.

Ant-man and the Wasp starts off with a heart touching moment between Dr. Pym and his daughter hope. However, that ends quickly due to the expected humor that comes from Scott everytime. Catching up to almost 2 years after the Avengers Civil war, but before Thanos decides he wants to be the greatest anti-hero since Deadpool, we learn that Scott made a plea bargain, which is expected. The writing of that brief time filler works well to help piece his life between movies. They still kept that unwritten time in perfect harmony to what you would expect of the Ant-man gang. Then fast forward slightly and we arrive to the first strange moment of the film. Scott begins having dreams of being back in the quantum realm. The graphics here are beyond belief. These were some of the smoothest looking moments I've seen in film. The way the colorings contrast, the depth fields, it all feels so real. Like they were actually there filming it. We start to get introduced to Ghost, the quantum bound villain. The use of the CGI was again top notch. The believable flow of Schrodinger's theories, both here and not at the same instance, brings a sense of realism the likes of which are so realistic, it gave me chills. It almost makes you ask, "How did you do that." The science used in the film to explain the jumps to and from quantum reality and our reality almost seem believable. The writing over all was absolute great! The character's personalities, the science, the plot build, everything was perfect! The choice in actors, as always, was amazing. The action scenes were perfectly balanced with humor, which to me is among the most important aspects of filming. But then we start to get to strange parts. The chase scene, it wasnt very original. Not because it was a chase scene, but because of how it was done. It was tacky. It was over played. Seen 2 of the trailers? Congratulations, you've seen the entire chase scene. Sadly, most of the great scenes were already seen and seen again because of bad choices for the tv and cinematic trailers. But, all that aside it's still a great movie.

But here's where the bad starts coming in. Well. Really my anger. The entire movie is based around the team trying to rescue Pym's wife all while stopping Ghost. All of this just a short time before Thanos comes waving his dick, I mean infinite stones. I wont say what happens, but I will say Antman does not become dust. Instead, the writers just slap you, so it on you, and proceed to mock you. They kick you while you're down. They make you requesting why you ever came and watched the movie just for THAT to happen. It angered me so much that I can't even begin to explain my anger. Overall, I give this movie a 3.8/5 stars. Great film, but over played scenes in the trailer make the best parts now among the worse. I'd still see it again, but I'd burn the theater before watching that end credit scene again.
