BGX!

MAN times have been busy and hard. But all through that your pals at CATV have been getting some work done. Recently we were invited to attend BGX, or Beckley Gaming Expo which of course is in Beckley, WV. Aaaaand we got lost again but that's beside the point.

This was the first year for BGX and it made a big impression. There were tournaments for a host of video games and table tops. Our first tournament to stream and participate in was the Mario Kart Double Dash. it started off with lauren and myself against Ben and the other single. it was us in first the whole time and at the last second BAM, red shell hit us and Ben took the 3rd place spot knocking us to 4th. Ask Ben about it, he'll tell you all and more. It was all in good fun. Other tournaments that took place at BGX were the likes of Smash bros ultimate and WiiU, splatoon, Street Fighter, Call of Duty, Time Crisis 3, Links Crossbow training, halo, Mortal Kombat 11, and more. There was also tons of classics like Ms. Pacman and Galaga.

In addition to the many happenings of BGX, we were able to sit down and play test a new gaming coming soon to Kickstarter. You may have seen this game when we live streamed it, its called Stacked. This game plays like jenga with a touch of tetris. Its so much more than that. The game has a couple of different styles to chose from so every game has its own edge of the seat excitement. Check out the video on our Facebook page. Of course a complete Critically Absurd Story wouldn't be the same with out us robbing some banks. We had a couple round of one of favorite games leading to some Rival wins and some wins from the crew! Bank Heist will be returning to kickstarter later this fall. Stay tuned!

We were unable to interview in person as things were very busy during the convention, BUT we were able to get an interview over the internet from our friend Desiree.

Critically Absurd: for this cons first year how do you feel it performed?

Desiree: "I think it went really well for its first year. We had a good turnout and everyone I spoke to had a good time."

CA: What were some of the biggest performers of the con

Des: "Our biggest tournaments were Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, Rocket League and Call of Duty. The video game portion of the expo was always busy and so were the arcade cabinets and the dungeon and dragon tables!"

CA: Anything you may do different next year?

Des: "Were thinking of a reconstruction of the hours and prices for next year and definitely switching up the games and tournaments to keep it fresh."

CA: How well do you feel BGX was received by the community?

Des: "I think those who attended had a blast and I’ve received several messages already asking if we were going to have it again next year from those who attendees and were unable to attend."

BGX was a blast and we cant wait to attend for its second year! And you know that we will be returning to enter those tournaments, bring our Werewolf back, live stream, and let all those know who couldn't attend all there is to know about BGX. If you are curious on learning more be sure to check out their facebook page Here (https://www.facebook.com/BeckleyGamingExpo/ ) and check out our page for more videos and pictures. 10/10 would recommend.
