Deep into Development, a CATV Game

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

A Critically Absurd open letter.

If you have been following up over the years or met us at any point chances are you have played our social deduction game with us at conventions and other events, thats Nights of Strife. We have been getting to work on developing this game and getting it done once and for all. the base game that is..

In fact we have been so deep and focused into the development of Nights of Strife (NoS) that we have had to put some things on pause or limit things. For example we haven't had an article come out in a while; we all have day jobs so what time we do have now has been spent of making sure the mechanics of the game flow correctly no matter the combination of roles is chosen at the start of a game. We have been narrowing down the Roles used in the game and made sure their test and use in the game is what we feel it should be. Don't fret, we will still have articles, stream, and the content come out.

Our podcast, On Air, has also been affected from NoS development. From every week down to when we have the time to meet or every 3 weeks or so. We have set a goal for ourselves to complete this game by a certain time, On Air has been set aside for us to meet this goal.

Currently in the NoS development we have nailed down the roles and other cards functionality and about to finish the rule book, after that we will add more lore to the story of the game and list tips, name our Beta Testers, and other things you'd expect in a game booklet. At the same time in our development our artist for the project, James Clark is hard at working on completing all the art for the game, and it does not disappoint. We feel very confident in him. He has truly nailed the feeling of the 1890s Nights of Strife. We will reveal more as time goes on and a grand reveal once the game is complete.

We have ambitious plans of a grand reveal of the game and all its contents and looks once have finished, printed, product in our hands and provide easy means for anyone to buy their own copy. We even plan on touring many locations to host free games for anyone to come play and experience the story.

We have had past events for beta testing and other public days for people to play and we have plans to continue that. Infact, Nights of Strife will have one FINAL public beta test, complete with survey and art reveal, before public launch of the game. That last beta test doe not have a date or time yet so stay tune to us to have your name listed in the game and a way to get a discount on Nights of Strife if you want to purchase in the future!

We will release more information and events of Nights of Strife when available.

There is an event coming very soon of which we will be appearing to cover as press and host all weekend plays and that is the very much missed and exciting Charcon 2022 (Aug 15-17)! We will have games Friday evening and Saturday starting at 11am all throughout the day as well as some on Sunday. Message or visit us or Charcon for for more information on this! https://www.charcon.org/info.html

EDIT: 7/14/22

Unfortunately we have to cancel our appearance at Charcon '22. My family and I caught Covid for the second time and the quarantine period crosses over into the convention weekend. I don't think it would be wise or well off to those around me as the risk of transfer is higher. Its heartbreaking but it must be done.

Still stay tuned to us however, we still have plans to travel all over to different locations to host public games. We'll post a schedule once we know.
