Tsubasacon Weekend!

It's here again! After many years Tsubasacon has returned to its Charleston, WV location, the newly renovated Civic Center and it is beautiful! We had the great opportunity of running our Critically Absurd Werewolf and some Demos of the upcoming Bank Heist. We had an amazing turn out for people joining our games, which we couldn't be more thankful for and a ton of testing of different roles. We are also happy to announce that our first expansion is now available, a serial killer based game called Happy Lake! Even better you can even buy a Print and Play of the base game with the Happy Lake expansion or purchase separately now! All you have to to is email us and let us know you want a copy or find us in person!

Of course running games isn't all we did at Tsubasacon. We also did our usual press coverage and pictures. We are happy to report that Tsubasacon is still a con that we ALWAYS suggest people to attend. Tsubasacon always has a plethora of panels and videos to go see, raves and masquerades to be apart of, a TON of vendors to pick through to find just the piece of anime treasure you were looking for and of course the great talent of guests that Tsubasacon had to offer this year like Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, a voice actress and director, the great voice actor Chuck Huber who voiced many roles like Android 17, Emperor Pilaf, Kurogiri, and so much more. Morgan Berry also was a special guest for Tsubasacon. Shes known for voice acting in so many shows, movies, and video games like Dragon Ball Super, My Hero Academia, One Piece, and you just might know her on YouTube as "The Unknown Songbird." There were so many other guests at Tsubasacon this year like, Extraordinary Contraptions, Lisle Wilkerson, Vitamin H, William T. Spears, and Mako Gems Productions.

In our Press coverage endeavours we also stumbled across our very good friends Tangerine Mountain Imports and designs. If you haven't check them out then you really need to, get authentic Kimono clothing! We met them 2 years ago when we did a video on them about japanese-american culture and how to wear a kimono. We have all been friends ever since. They are GREAT people and are very easy to work with to find what you want. Order online, email them what you want, or see them in person. THey have hundreds of styles to work with. We also ran into an awesome vendor who hand makes their own pillows and other items based of geek culture, Breann so crafty. We did a video spot on them so check them out! You can get your own high quality pillow or bag and if it were to get damaged or fall apart they can replace it for you, how awesome is that?! We also spoke with Carolina Manga library who pride themselves in making a safe quiet place and a reading encouraging environment to all who attend cons. The personal travel from con to con carrying all their books, shelves, stands, and decorations foreveryont to enjoy, But recently they have come into quite a problem, their trailer is breaking down and they cant fit a repair or replacement into the budget so its up to you and i to donate and make sure they can still provide for us. We did a video on them be sure to check that out for more.

Working the con keeps you super busy so we weren't able to directly interview on camera with the staff of Tsubasacon but we were able to ask some questions through Email afterwards. We thank Michael Thompson for his remarks.

Critically Absurd - "How do you feel this year went compared to others and how do you feel about the move?"

Michael Thompson - "We thought it went great! We finally beat our attendance record and feel like Charleston has welcomed us with open arms."

CATV - "Did you get any feedback or how was the vendor and gaming areas for you and the staff?

MT - "The artists were super excited and we've had vendors already asking to be invited back."

CATV - "Are you willing to speak on any plans for next year of any kind?"

MT - "Not at this time, keep an eye on our social media, with "Team Evil" winning there may be some changes coming soon!"

CATV - "What were some of the biggest things that stood out this year for you the staff?"

MT - "Cheap hotel rooms make all the difference, having event staff assisting with room setups and teardowns was awesome, having a mall food court nearby was also very handy."

CATV - "Is the ribbon game returning for next year?"

MT - "We're going to play it by ear and see how it goes at Matsuricon to see how popular it is there, it's more attendee driven so if the desire is there to do it again we'll definitely do it again."

We had a blast this year at Tsubasacon and we hope you did too, and man we are excited for next year! Thank you too all who played with us, let us interview, let us take pictures of, and most of all to the great staff of Tsubasacon!

HERE'S TO NEXT YEAR!
